Scope and Contents
This series contains the annual report to the President of Georgia State University which covers the many activities by which the university fulfills its threefold mission of teaching, research, and service to the community. Created according to instructions of the Regents of the University of Georgia System, the report is actually a bound collection of reports written by the Executive Vice President and Provost; by the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, Academic Services, Financial Affairs, Student Services, and Urban Affairs; and by the various associate and assistant vice presidents, deans of colleges, and office heads whom they direct. The reports are narrative and contain statistical data and charts; however, each varies in structure and contents because of differences in functions among the various units. Most reports include self evaluation information on strengths, needs, 1-year objectives, and 5-year objectives. Those which originate from colleges under the Vice President of Academic Affairs generally contain material on faculty changes, research projects, publications, and professional activities.
