McIntosh County - State Court - Case Files
Scope and Contents
This series contains original unbound papers which formed portions of civil and criminal case files involving: Promissory notes, Attorneys' fees, Actions on accounts Debts, Answers of defendants, Demurrers of defendants, Actions on notes, Complaints, Damages, Affidavits, fi fas and judgments. These city court records correspond to court records created today by state courts. To avoid any confusion, it must be pointed out that at one time the state courts of the various counties were called city courts although, in essence, they did not have municipal court powers. In the state court structure, these courts, by whatever name, are at the level from which appeals lie directly to the Court of Appeals.
