Scope and Contents

The Act of December 20, 1898 (Georgia Laws 1898 p.p. 94-97) required the State Board of Entomology to make annual reports to the Governor. The entomological activities of the Department of Agriculture, previous to this date appeared in the annual reports of the Department. These published reports include the following sections: White-Fringed Beetle Control and Eradication; Sweet Potato Weevil Control and Eradication; Japanese Beetle Control and Eradication; Tifton Laboratory; Cornelia Laboratory; Atlanta Office; Phony Peach Disease Control; Insects and Plant Disease Surveys; Imported Fire Ant; Soybean Cyst Nematode; Mediterranean Fruit Fly; Tomato Late Blight; European Corn Borer; Plant Certification Program; Ornamental Nurseries; Sweetpotato Plant; Tomato Plant; Cabbage Plant; Easter Lily Bulb; Cotton Plant; Bee Inspection and Certification; Structural Pest Control Inspection; Camellia Flower Blight Control; Registration of Economic Poisons and Devices; Quarantines; Income and Disbursements; Beneficial Parasite and Predator Distribution; Cotton Seed Certification; Irish Potato Certification; Fruit Pest Control; and General Pest Control Program.
