This series is composed of loose election returns for the inclusive dates listed below. The returns document the names of candidates seeking election to each office to which they aspire, the number of votes each receives and, usually, the name of electors participating in each election. These records include precinct returns, tally sheets and lists of voters. Some returns include the Democratic, Republican and People's Party tickets in the 1892 Presidential Election. These returns were for County Officers, State House Officers, Members of the General Assembly, Members of Congress, Presidential Electors, Constitutional Amendments and minor county officials. There is no inventory to help locate individual candidates. Since the office these returns refer to varies so much,the election held for each date will refer to the specific offices involved and will differentiate between primary and general elections.
