Scope and Contents
This series contains minutes, either verbatim or summary, of meetings of the Board of Community Development which in 1977 changed its name to the Board of Community Affairs. As is the case with all such records, these minutes include; (1) agendas; (2) lists of members present; (3) reports of actions initiated in meetings; (4) regular and special reports of commissions, councils and committees; (5) exhibits, and (6) announcements. Among subjects discussed or reports submitted might be: (1) community betterment programs; (2) downtown development; (3) Inter University Task Force projects; (4) Area Development Division report; (5) Local Development Division report; (6) Criminal Justice Technical Assistance Unit report; (7) budget matters, and (8) analyses of travel expenses. Often included are several handouts for Board members. Among these might be newsletters of related councils such as Coastal Zone Management Advisory Council, National Governors' Association and the National League of Cities, and related publications such as the Energy Conservation Plan Summary for Georgia.
