Pulaski County - Probate Court - Marriage Records
Scope and Contents
This series contains original unbound arranged marriage records of the Probate Court of Pulaski County. The records include both licenses and certificates generally included on the same document. Information on the licenses includes: (1) name of groom (2) name of bride (3) date license was issued. The certificates give: (1) the date of the marriage (2) name of the Ordinary (3) name of the person performing the ceremony. On the back of most of the records is the book and page where the licenses are recorded although no effort has been made to compare the completeness of this file with the recorded copies in the Marriage Record volumes of the county. The finding aid gives locations for microfilm of two distinct listings of marriages. The first listing is for those marriages filmed at the courthouse in 1992 by the Genealogical Society of Utah. They cover years 1800 - 1938. The second listing is for those original records the Georgia Archives has held since the early 1970's. These records cover years 1810 - 1867.
