Scope and Contents
The Board of Public Safety was established by the Georgia General Assembly in 1972 to establish policy for the Georgia Department of Public Safety (Ga. Laws 1972 p. 1015). Topics dealt with by the board include public security issues, personnel and salaries, training, including a law enforcement training center, gifts and donations, a public safety memorial, and drug enforcement.
In addition to minutes, documents include agendas, rosters, budgets, certificates, reports including Georgia Bureau of Investigation annual reports, resolutions, training manuals, photographs, and proposed legislation.
