This classification contains publications created and sponsored by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and its predecessors, the Institute of Government and the Institute of Law and Government.

The Institute of Government was established in the early 1950's for the purpose of assisting state, county and municipal public officials to better understand their duties and to fulfill their obligations to their constituents. In order to accomplish these objectives, the Institute presents seminars, in which current or future problems relating to government are discussed, issues publications and engages in other similar activities.
