Scope and Contents
This series contains original unbound marriage records of the Probate Court of Wilkes County. The records consist of: (1) consent from parent or guardian forms (2) applications (3) licenses (4) certifications of marriage (5) marriage bonds (6) waivers of parent's or guardian's consent and (7) requests for licenses to be issued. Ordinarily, the information on the licenses includes: (1) name of groom (2) name of bride (3) date license was issued (4) date of marriage (5) name of Ordinary and (6) name of person performing ceremony.

The inventory below gives locations of the film and originals as well as a full name listing of both bride and groom for the white marriages and African American marriages.
