Human Resources - Human Development - Airbriefs (Publication)
Scope and Contents
These news items are designed for distributions to radio and television stations and contain helpful hints to the people of Georgia from the Department of Human Resources. Subjects dealt with include fire prevention, bicycle safety, high blood pressure, mailing cash, day care standards, the foster parents program, prenatal care, food labeling, rabid animals, employing older Georgians, obtaining copies of vital records, the Georgia tie line, alcoholism, gonorrhea, family planning, community mental health centers, employment of the handicapped and immunizations of school children. The format of these bulletins varies considerably from number to number but all contain the reading time and phone numbers for those who desire to pursue a particular subject. Some numbers are designed for television broadcasting and indicate coordination with slide presentations. Others include several versions depending on how much time the broadcaster wishes to devote to a particular spot. Still others are mailed out under a different letterhead and closely resemble the regular news releases (Series 12). Please see the other Public Information Office records, Series 12 through 17.
