Human Resources - Human Development - Consumer Alerts (Publications)
Scope and Contents
These one to two page bulletins are, as the name implies, designed to aid Georgia consumers in their dealings with unscrupulous merchandisers' techniques. These Consumer Alerts deal with such specific consumer problems as highly toxic anti-freeze products, gold swindling schemes, motor home sales, retirement clubs, promotion prizes, illegal land developing schemes, bootleg music tapes and "pyramid club" sales. The subject of each number is indicated at the top of most numbers and the Department tie line telephone number is provided for those readers who might wish further information on any subject. This series is very closely related to the other consumer bulletins published by the Public Information Office (Series 13 and 16) and all other publications of the office (Series 12-17).
