Scope and Contents
This series contains letters addressed to various members of the Commission and also occasionally to Governor Carl Sanders requesting that information, pictures, maps, or similar material concerning the War Between the States be mailed to them. No carbon copies of replies are included except those from the Governor's office in which he indicated he was forwarding the request to the Commission. Although most inquiries come from school children, there are many from adults as well, and a wide geographic range is represented. Only the years 1963-65 are covered in this series, there being many similar letters included in Series 1 and 2.
