This series contains the public file maintained on all bank holding companies doing business in Georgia. Included in the file are: acquisition files, Federal Form F.R.Y-2 or notice of intent and applications to acquire additional banks or subsidiaries; and Form F.R.Y-6 or annual report published by each bank holding company. These records document in part the supervision and regulation of the banking industry in Georgia in all its ramifications. The reason the word "public" is emphasized in the opening sentence is because there are records created and maintained in the supervision of bank holding companies which, due to the fact that they contain private corporate information, are not included in this file.
