This series contains a loose leaf compilation of the laws and regulatlons governing the various segments of the financial industry in Georgia. This represents the first revision and recodification of the banking laws since 1919 and further updates and modernizes all laws directly regulating financial institutions as embodied in the Financial Institutions Code of Georgia which was enacted by the 1974 General Assembly. While not to be construed as a complete code, the most important statutes have been compiled for ready reference by officials of financial institutions, attorneys and other interested parties. Besides the statutes themselves, drafting comments are inserted from time to time to aid in the transition from former laws to the new Code, to indicate sources of legal language, and to provide some insight into the logic and rationale used by the drafters. The comments are not, however, official opinions or interpretations of the various Code sections. Each part is provided with a table of contents and the volume also contains a roster of the names of the compilers of the Code.
