This series contains (1) Executive Orders, (2) stays of execution, (3) resignations of state and local officials, (4) veto messages, (5) referendum proclamations, (6) some formal legal agreements, (7) certifications of Presidential electors and Federal office holders and (8) related correspondence. All these papers are used as source materials for the compilations of the bound Executive Minutes (Sub-Group 1, Series 3). Not all the materials in these files, however, actually become incorporated into the minutes.
