Scope and Contents

The intern program originated in the early 1960's. The purpose of the program is to provide undergrad and graduate students, attending colleges and universities throughout the United States and especially in Georgia, the opportunity to become actively involved in the state government of Georgia by working in state agencies and simultaneously receiving scholastic credit at the college or university they attend for participating in this internship. The annual reports include chapters on (1) the purpose and goals of the program, (2) how the program affected the participatory students and state agencies, (3) statistics showing the different academic majors participating in the program and the percentage of each, (4) list of colleges and universities participating in the program, (5) conclusions and recommendations.
