Biographical / Historical
Mae married Edward Y. Clarke about 1903, and had a one son. She was the sister of Dr. Samuel Cartledge who, like Mae, worked at Grady Hospital. In 1943 Mrs. Clarke received her pharmacy license from Grady, apparently the first woman to get such a license in Georgia. She is buried in Westview Cemetery.
