Scope and Contents

The collection includes correspondence, accounts and records, bank statements, plats, assets, trust deeds and appointments, lists of properties, securities and collaterals, powers of attorneys, wills, and other paper's connected with Hitz's work. George E. Merrick, Coral Gables Corporation, and Belleair Estates, Inc., are a few of those he represented.

Biographical / Historical

Alex was born May 16, 1889 in Washington, DC, to Florian R. (1865 - 1920) and Clara Hitz (1865 - 1940). Alex moved to Atlanta by 1920, married Elizabeth Crawford (on July 14, 1920), and worked as a real estate agent, an attorney, and as Officer in Charge of the Surveyor General Department of Georgia. Alex died in Fulton County, Georgia on October 29, 1982.
