Biographical / Historical
After the Georgia Baptist Convention of 1822, Old-Line Primitive church leaders who were opposed to changes from earlier doctrines and practices maintained command of some already existing churches and proceeded to form associations if they were repudiated by the majority. The United Baptist Association was the first such group in the state in 1828. Since then about 90 other Old-Line associations have existed for varying periods of time.
