Biographical / Historical
In October of 1964, Emily B. Turley was appointed organizing regent of a DAR chapter in Roswell, Georgia. A small group met the next month in the home of Mrs. John Wise to begin the process of organizing a chapter. With Mrs. Turley presiding as organizing regent, fourteen potential members were present at this initial meeting. The following signed a Report of Organization of the new chapter: Lorene Bass, Pearl Ragland, Martha Lee Bell, Hallie Rippy, Rose Bell, Louise Swann, Elizabeth Brady, Jessie Tregellis, Hazel Eubanks, Emily Turley, Irene Langston, Leila Turner, Eva Prather, and Barbara Wise.
The organizing meeting of Fort Peachtree Chapter, NSDAR, was held on December 11, 1964. The location of the chapter was changed from Roswell to Atlanta in August 1966.
