P. A. has not been identified, but this is possibly a Jasper A. Norris letter, written between the time when Jasper was captured in 1863 and when he swore an oath of allegiance to the U. S. government in the fall of 1864. If so, he had been serving in Company C of the 26th Georgia Regiment Volunteers.
