Theodore K. Jones World War I papers
Scope and Contents
The collection contains Jones' diaries from 1917-1919 while he served with American Expeditionary Forces in Europe, Battery B, 320th Regt. Field Arty., and an expanded narrative draft he wrote from these notes. Also included are a "Gas" notebook, illustrated, concerning the use and effects of gas and pictures of A.E.F. insignias; a roster of Battery B; and a scrapbook of war and personal memorabilia.

Biographical / Historical
Theodore K. Jones was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 5, 1895. He lived with his widowed mother, Mrs. Flora E. Jones, in New York in the Bronx where he managed a Woolworths. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1917; and after receiving some training at Camp Gordon in Georgia, he served in France. Later in life he worked as an auditor and lived with his wife, Lois, in Decatur, Georgia.
He died January 24, 1976 and is buried in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Fulton County, Georgia.
