Biographical / Historical
Joseph was the son of Merida and Martha Cason Camp of Walton County, Georgia. He married Louisa E. Baker and enlisted in the 64th Regt. GA Infantry, Co. K in February 1863. Absent without leave in June and July 1864, he was captured by Union soldiers in Walton County and sent to Camp Chase in Ohio where he died of smallpox.
