Biographical / Historical

Adelaide Everhart was born January 30, 1865 in Mecklenburg, North Carolina. She was the daughter of George Marlowe Everhart and Cornelia Adelaide Banner Everhart. She lived most of her life in Decatur, Georgia (DeKalb county), where she worked as a book illustrator and portrait painter. She died in 1958 and is buried at Salem Cemetery, in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina.

She illustrated, Roses of St. Elizabeth, Gabriel and the Hour Book, The Young Knight, and Clementina's Highwayman.
