Beginning with a history of the Webb family from their arrival in Virginia to their settling in Georgia in 1810, John recounts incidents of his own life from birth (p. 27) through the Civil War. The memoir contains information about his army life against the Native Americans (1813), his business career in Newborn, Newton Co., GA,, family relations, and the losses he suffered during the Civil War.
