Telamon Smith Cuyler collection
Scope and Contents
The majority of papers are original Jones County Superior Court records collected by Cuyler, most connected with the sheriff's duties, including probate. A few papers contain lists of enslaved people or concern poor schools. There are also photographs taken in Atlanta of the 1891 Piedmont Exposition and other sites and of unidentified African-Americans.

Telamon, born Telamon Cuyler Smith, was a lawyer and writer, born in Rome, Georgia, to Henry H. and Estelle Cuyler Smith; resided in Atlanta, Athens, Georgia, New York City, and Europe; and eventually settled on a farm called Wychehil in Jones County, Georgia.
