Scope and Contents
The three scrapbooks contain news clippings, letters, cards, and photographs from World War II.
The first scrapbook includes general news clippings about war events, obituaries of friends who died in the war, and letters of sympathy from relatives of these friends. Most items are in chronological order.
The second scrapbook is titled "Friends and Relatives' sons and daughters in World War II." This book includes an alphabetical listing of friends, the outfit of service, place of service, and what became of them. News clippings and photographs are also included. There are approximately 200 names.
The third scrapbook lists a few relatives and tells where they were and what became of them. Correspondence, souvenirs, photographs collected by Maud Cofer during her service in the WACs (Women's Army Corps) in England. Correspondence, photographs, cards, news clippings from Raymond Tiller, a navy aviator serving in the North Atlantic.
