Biographical / Historical
William and Frances Smith came from North Carolina to what was then Walker County, Georgia, before 1843. In 1853, the area became Catoosa County, Georgia. Although their grandchild, Winnefred Frances Park, who married David W. Stiles, wrote several accounts of her ancestors and their life in the county, she was born in 1878, too late to have known her grandmother. She had many older sisters and brothers, however, who may have left the account.
