Biographical / Historical
Lula Mahan's ancestors came from Virginia around 1850 to grow tobacco along the Salacoa Creek in Georgia. Her parents were Joseph M. Mahan and Nancy Elizabeth Taylor. In 1894, she married Robert E. Adair, a young doctor who had also grown up in Bartow County, Georgia. He was the son of Sarah Frances Paul and John Rucker or Rooker Adair.
