Biographical / Historical

The club, also known as the Hancock County Planters Club, was formed 11 April 1837 ". . . to advance the Science of Agriculture and to improve the practice of animal husbandry . . . ." The agricultural fair was held each November beginning in 1841 and, reportedly, was the first such fair in Georgia.
