Scope and Contents
This collection consists primarily of correspondence among relatives and friends of the Furlow/Etheridge families, reflecting family relationships and life in early twentieth century Georgia towns. There are also newspaper clippings, postcards and greeting cards, some genealogical information, a scrapbook, and a few business letters.

Biographical / Historical
Timothy Matthews Furlow (1854 - 1923) of Americus, Sumter County, Georgia, married Susannah (Susie) Calvin Etheridge (1860 - 1945) of Perry, Houston County, Georgia, on October 19, 1880. The Furlows lived in Jackson, Butts County, Georgia, where their five children were born: Frances (Fannie), 1883, who married Mac Potts ca. 1906; James William, 1886; Calvin Edward (Ned), 1892; Warren, 1896; and Sarah Louise, 1900, who married John D. Rhem in 1927.
