Biographical / Historical

Mildred Davis was born in Pittsburgh and came to Atlanta about 1920 with her family. She taught English at Washington Seminary for over 30 years and riding at several camps in the Southeast, including Laurel Falls and Merrie-Woode. After the deaths of her mother and brother, Mildred, who never married, retired from teaching and spent her time traveling, taking classes, reading, caring for her dog, and cultivating friendships.
