Scope and Contents
This collection consists of William Henderson Wood's diary, spanning nearly two years of farming in Bartow County, Georgia. Most of the entries are one line long and give information about weather, land preparation, sowing, harvesting, milling, and slaughtering as well as church going and other neighborhood news. Many entries are barely legible.

Biographical / Historical
William Henderson Wood was born in Georgia to Rebecca Pearson and Allen Wood and lived in Macon County, Georgia. After his first wife died and he remarried, to Laura J. Sutton, he moved on to Lowndes County, Georgia, and arrived in Bartow County, Georgia, before 1870. He later migrated to DeKalb County, Alabama, where he died.
