The Georgia Dental Hygienists' Association represents all licensed dental hygienists in the state. Through the Association's efforts with several coalition groups, they actively support increased access to dental hygiene care. They participate in the legislative process and support many issues to improve quality preventive oral healthcare for the patient. This association of professional dental hygienists, states that "using emerging technologies, research and evidence based practices," they "empower each individual member in a continuum of self-directed, lifelong education for the enhancement of patient care and the advancement of the dental hygiene profession."
