Biographical / Historical
Wayne was the son of Ora V. Cason and Loyd Denver Daniel, a farmer, of Haralson County, Georgia. He graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma and is Professor Emeritus, Decision Sciences, Georgia State University. A country music fan and scholar, he has published a wide range of articles on country, bluegrass, and Southern gospel music, culminating in PICKIN' ON PEACHTREE (1990), his definitive history of country music in Atlanta, Georgia.
