Biographical / Historical
Robert Spence Baker (1929 - 2020) of Summerville, Georgia was a historian of Chattooga County and a state employee of the [Georgia] Game and Fish Division of the Department of Natural Services [Natural Resources] for 35 years. Baker served as a wildlife ranger in northwest Georgia before being promoted to District Chief of Law Enforcement at Fort Valley, Georgia. He then served as the Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Game and Fish Commission Coordinator of Law Enforcement and as Coordinator of Special Services from 1964 to 1991.
