This volume contains a record of petitions of individuals for land in Franklin and Washington counties. Included are the names of individuals petitioning for land, the date of reading, the county in which the land was located, and the number of acres.

This series consists of recorded grants issued by the provincial and state governors of the Colony and State of Georgia for lands primarily east of the Oconee River. Grants act as the initial title to public lands as issued to individuals upon petition, warrant, and survey of the land. Recorded in the grant is the name of the grantee, the county or parish in which the land was situated, a description of the land, the number of acres, and the date of the grant.

This volume contains recordings of grants signed by Georgia's three Royal Governors.

Also known as the Warrant files, these records document the preliminary stages of issuing headright and bounty grants to Georgia citizens. In addition to warrants for land surveys, there are certificates of service for bounty land grants, petitions for land for headright grants, and powers of attorney.
