Scope and Contents
Poor schools were early school systems set up by the county to educate the children of citizens unable to send their children to private schools. In 1837, the General Assembly provided for Commissioners of the Common School in Cobb County, and in 1859 county boards of education were created. This series consists of minutes of the actions and decisions of the county Poor School Commissioners.
