Scope and Contents The Georgia General Assembly created the Board of Physicians in 1825 to regulate the "Botanic" and "Thomsonian" practices of medicine. The board was repealed in 1836, revived again in 1839, and re-created without change in 1847. In 1881 the legislature abolished the board and its power to license physicians.
