This series contains the minutes of the bi-monthly meetings of the State Board of Public Welfare. These records are contained in bound volumes. The Board was established along with the Department of Public Welfare in 1937. Both had their names changed to Family and Children Services in 1963. The Governor's Reorganization made Public Welfare a component of the Department of Human Resources in 1971. The minutes are a transcription of all actions taken and all resolutions made by the Board. They are not verbatim reports of what actually transpired but rather summaries of the meetings.
