Scope and Contents
This series consists of bound letterbooks containing records concerning the Georgia Railroad & Banking Company, the Macon & Brunswick Railroad and the Rome Railroad. The Georgia Railroad & Banking Company's letterbooks consist of bills, correspondence and invoices created by the auditor of that company. The Macon and Brunswick Railroad's letterbooks consist of correspondence concerning the sale of that railroad. The Rome Railroad's letterbooks contain correspondence signed by the president, superintendent and agent. Some of the letterbooks have indexes, some do not. Series 6, Transportation Division's Railroad Minute Books, Series 14, Transportation Division's Railroad Ledgers and Journals, and Series 17, Unbound Macon & Brunswick Railroad Sale Records, also of this record group and sub group, should be used with this series when researching the Macon & Brunswick Railroad.
