This series contains correspondence, both in-coming and copies of replies, memorandums, telegrams, statistical data including statements of worth and computer printout reports on sales, documents outlining insurance company policies and procedures, company reorganization plans, newspaper clippings, insurance company annual reports, certificates of merger and related papers documenting all phases of the Insurance Commissioner's regulation of insurance companies doing business in Georgia. Among subjects covered are legal suits involving stockholders and other challenges to the operation of companies, details of property purchases by insurance companies (not included in the company annual statements, Series 33), inquiries from other states' insurance commissioners and the general public as to the soundness of companies licensed in Georgia, company mergers and other inter company business transactions. It is particularly interesting to note the comments of the Comptroller General and the Insurance Commissioner on the activities and policies of various insurance companies.
