Scope and Contents

The Georgia Legislature passed Resolution No. 36 (1869), requiring the Wild Lands Clerk to compile a list of returned unimproved lands for the years 1868, 1869, and 1870. The list includes the name and post office of the person returning the land. The following information is consistently given: (1) number of acres of land (2) county number (3) district number (4) section number (5) county where the land lies and (6) total value of land. These lists were to serve as a reference book for the Comptroller General and general public.
