Scope and Contents

This series consists of bound ledgers maintained by various station agents or their clerks. Typically, the ledgers include: transaction date, debit column, credit column, amount, and totals. The series is incomplete for all agencies along the line and not all the volumes are identifiable by external evidence. In the back of Volume 4, 1856, Ringgold, is a freight register listing: car number, owner, date of list, destination, types of articles, mark (name), consignor, consignee, weight, and amount paid.
