This bulletin is published by the Research Section, Department of Planning, Evaluation, Research and Training of Central State Hospital as a service to all divisions of the Department of Human Resources. The bulletin is composed of abstracts of current research projects that staff members of the many divisions of the department are engaged in. The Office of the Coordinator of Research, Georgia Department of Human Resources, solicits these abstracts and invites all units of G.D.H.R. to submit their abstracts. The purposes of publishing the Bulletin are to serve as a vehicle of communication between research and evaluation staff members, many of whom are working in overlapping problem areas and who thus need to be apprised of one another's efforts, and to aid program managers and planners to learn more about innovative treatments or methods of service delivery which are being tested in other divisions and units of G.D.H.R. The format of the Bulletin is to divide the projects into the sections of (1) Applied Research, which includes projects having more immediate practical implications for service delivery and (2) Basic Research which includes projects having a more indirect applicability to service delivery. Each abstract has the name, title and academic credentials of each researcher working on the project and the name of the institution sponsoring or supporting the research. An index of such researchers and institutions is included.
