This series consists of five volumes of mortgages recorded within the Colony of Georgia. Mortgaged property may consist of land, with or without buildings and improvements, and personal property including livestock, household goods, and slaves. In addition to the mortgages, there are lease and release records and deeds of release. Each instrument names the individuals involved, the property being mortgaged, the amount of debt to be paid, witnesses, and the date the instrument was recorded. The volumes are indexed.
