Scope and Contents
This series consists of minutes of the Governor and Council. The minutes relate routine administrative duties of the Governor and Council including appointments of officers and administering oaths of office, establishing a schedule of fees, and hearing the reports of the Adjutant General. The majority of the minutes pertain to the granting of land to citizens. Recorded in the minutes are petitions for land by citizens and the subsequent grant or rejection by the Governor. The minutes also record conferences between the Governor and the Creek Indians regarding alliances against the French and the Spanish. The volumes are not indexed.
