The records include statistical information and some correspondence from each individual school in the University System. These reports are required by the Board of Regents and submitted quarterly by the individual schools. They are used for evaluation of schools' performance in relation to the student - teacher and teacher - hour ratios. We have retained an archival sample of the fall and summer quarters of 1956 and 1962. In cases where these were not.available for the individual school, we retained the reports closest to those dates, for that school. These workload reports contain lists of professors, course numbers (and in some cases titles), course hours, number of students, number of student hours, and hours spent in administrative duties. Some letters of transmittal and copies of correspondence sent to the schools pointing out discrepancies and asking questions about the reports are included.
