Confederate Pensions and Records - Pension Office - Quarterly Budget Allotment Requests
Scope and Contents
Requisitions to the Budget Bureau for the quarterly allotments give the date of the requisition, the purpose for which it is to be applied and the amount requested. Most are carbon or file copies, but in some instances the originals bearing the approval of the governor as director of the budget are included. Often cover letters are included. Requests for payments on budget allotments give the purpose for which the allotment is intended and the amount requested. Attached to these are "detail sheets" itemizing the proposed expenditures. Also included from 1945-1960 are summaries of money returned to the state because of refunds of pensioners who died or left the pension rolls for other reasons. These give the number of the requisition on which the allotment was originally made. The years 1911 - 1931 are very incomplete. The records for many years are missing entirely. The great majority of requisitions, etc., for these years are found in Series 24.
