Scope and Contents

This series consists of the final weekly statistical report form (VSO-19A) for each field office for each year. This form was revised several times in the course of the period the Department has been in operation, but in summary the forms were divided into four chief parts. The first dealt with new contacts and communications with veterans and the public in general. Part two dealt with the several types of claims and appeals work engaged in by the Department. Part three was entitled Personal Affairs and pertained to assistance rendered veterans. Part four was the summary section for the preceding three. These forms were completed weekly by the field offices of the Department and were used to compile the Departmental annual report. It is important to note again that this series contains only the report for the final week of each field office's operation for each year. Since they contain cumulative totals in each category, these forms indicate the annual totals. The forms are signed by the managers of the respective offices.
